The Carnegie Library of Monte Vista will be closed Saturday, December 23, 2017 thru Monday, December 25, 2017 for the Christmas Holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at our regular hours. The Library will also be closed on Saturday, December 30, 2017 thru Monday, January 1, 2018 for the New Year's Holiday and will reopen Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at our regular hours.

San Luis Valley Federal Bank is again setting aside money for their Spirit of Giving program to be allocated to local non-profit organizations as directed by the bank’s customers. Each customer is entitled to cast one vote per account for the non-profit of their choice. We would greatly appreciate your vote for the Carnegie Libraries of Monte Vista and South Fork to receive some of this funding, as we have in the past. Voting starts Monday, Nov. 20 and ends Friday, Dec. 15. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

We have a nice selection of children's e-books from Unite for Literacy. These can be found by either going through our online public catalog or through the links provided here. There is no need to log in to any site for these e-books they link you directly to the book, so download a book today and enjoy!
DVD donations needed! Help us to improve our DVD collection by donating your used DVD's that are in good condition. We do not buy our DVD's but wait for donations to come in, so please help us to give our community what it is asking for and bring in your DVD's for all to use. At your request we will put a name plate in the DVD case with your name on it showing that the DVD's were donated by you and that the library honors you for your donation to the public. Thank you for your help and support of the library.
The Monte Vista Kiwanis Club meets every Wednesday afternoon at noon in the large meeting room of the Carnegie Library in Monte Vista.
The Summer Reading Program takes place every summer at the Carnegie Library in Monte Vista on Thursdays from June to July.
The Children’s Story Hour is every Wednesday @ 10:00 a.m. held at the Carnegie Library in Monte Vista.
